Music, Movement and Acting for Kids Ages 8 — 14*

Old Academy Players’ Children’s Arts Program introduces kids to the joys of theater with hands-on exploration and learning about acting, musical theater and dance. Three days of discovery and rehearsal are transformed into a “Showcase Performance” presented on the Old Academy main stage for thrilled parents, family and friends.
Information
- Proof of vaccination will be required at the point of registration and we will comply with Philadelphia school, performance venue, and workplace standards in regard to masking. At this time, masks are encouraged, but not required for all students at all times other than mealtimes and performances. Masks will be encouraged, but not required of all adults who enter the buildings, as well.
- Drop-off from 8:30–8:45 drop off to 3:45–4:00 pick up each day, with a 7:30pm “Showcase Performance” for parents on Thursday (children are called back between 6:45 and 7:15pm). Children bring lunch. Light, individually wrapped snacks and beverages will be provided daily.
- Program Cost: $100 for three-day program. Family Discount: $100 first child; $80 for each additional sibling.
- Program runs for 3 days from July 25–27 2023

*A child 7 years or younger may accompany an older sibling, cousin, friend, etc. We extended the age limit upward in case anyone who missed us the last few years wanted to come back!

In the pictures below, CAP participants performed an adaptation of Annie! Sets and costumes were designed and developed with the input of the kids by Joan and Randy Shupp. Musical direction by Jane Jennings, choreography by Terri Bateman, and scene coaching by Susan Lonker.
