Volunteering and Membership

Volunteers working

We are always happy when someone wants to join in the fun of community theatre. We are an organization of volunteers who share the spotlight as well as backstage duties in producing six shows each season. Experience is not a requirement. If you love theater and you’d like to be a part of it, the Old Academy welcomes you.

You can participate in countless areas, such as:

  • Acting
  • Working backstage as a props person, lighting tech or sound tech
  • Ushering
  • Serving refreshments
  • Creating costumes
  • Designing and building sets
  • Working on one of our many committees such as Publicity, Fundraising or Social.

You do not have to become a member to participate at the Old Academy Players, but membership has its benefits, including free admission to Club Night (a preview performance of each show for theater members), voting rights on theater business at monthly General Meetings and our theater newsletter, The Prompter, published 6 times a year.

Annual dues are $15 first year and $30 for subsequent years.

If you would like to learn more about getting involved as a volunteer or becoming an Old Academy member, please call (215) 843‑1109, leave your name, address and phone number and we will contact you; or send us an email.
